FRANCHISE

Our Franchise Agreement focus on an effective support to all our future partners. Beside of being a legally binding agreement which outlines the Franchisor’s terms and conditions for the Franchisee, it also outlines the obligations of the Franchisor and the obligations of the Franchisee. The Franchise Agreement is signed at the time an individual makes the decision to enter the Umami Group Franchise system.

MANCHISE

Our Manchise Agreement comes from a mix between Management and Franchise. We operate the front of the house and the administration department following its routine tasks. We point at running the operation from a food & beverage management perspective not from a cash flow or a legal involvement even if we plan, suggest or recommend the entire structure.

By UM

Operated as a Manchise, this is our vision to penetrate the market where an owner wishes to leave his investment in a reliable and profitable modus operandi (Umami operates) keeping the original name of the location but adding the By UM as a distinctive of the day to day operation.

TSA

Our TSA facilitates short time-framed projects suitable for every type of development. Our tailormade TSA may be utilized for data analysis, building & equipment’s, entire development of a unit (roof lounge or beach club) or other technical services where the expertise or unique capabilities of the Umami Group are crucial. The head of terms of a TSA agreement for non-proprietary work will be delivered once Umami Group have a clear scope of the needs from the client.

What are the minimum requirements to become a UM Franchisee?
· Extensive details of CapEx and cash flow will be discussed during the initial conversations
· At least 5 years experience in the restaurant sector as an owner / operator
· A history of developing new multi-unit restaurants
· An existing infrastructure dedicated to the expansion of the selected UM brand
· A shared passion for making sure that each guest leaves UM happy and satisfied.
What are the minimum requirements to become a UM Manchisee?
· Extensive details of CapEx and cash flow will be discussed during the initial conversations
· Experience is not necessary as Umami Group will be in charge of operations
· An existing infrastructure dedicated to the expansion of the selected UM brand (depending on the Brand this can vary from 500 square metres up to 2500 square metres)
· A shared passion for making sure that each guest leaves UM happy and satisfied.
How long does the Franchise or Manchise Approval Process take?
The process time varies according to the project's complexity.  It could take between 1 to 3 months to complete any due diligence, legal agreements and market reviews.
Once approved, how long does it take for the business to be ready for opening?
It takes about 12 months on average (once the legal aspect has been finalised). Building reformation, marketing campaigns, FF&E / OS&E arrivals, pre-opening activities and training are usually introduced gradually. If the building is already finished, then we can drastically reduce the estimated opening time to 6 months, as long as we have all the plans are in place, especially those regarding planning, licences and cashflow.
What kind of support is available to me as a UM Franchisee?
UM provides initial and ongoing support for your franchise At this stage, the location's general manager will be continually receiving the assistance from UM headquarters. This includes: Development, Operations, Marketing, Training / HR, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance (or Mystery Shopper), Financial, as well as Business Management and Strategy, all from Day 1 until the opening. Once opened, the Franchisee will receive weekly calls from our Franchise Director to support and satisfy the needs of the Franchisee.
What kind of support is available to me as a UM Manchise (Includes By UM)?
UM leads the pre-opening stage including Development, Operations, Marketing, Training /HR, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance (or Mystery Shopper), Financial, as well as Business Management and Strategy, from Day 1 until the end of the agreement. Once opened, Umami's General Manager and Franchise Director will call the Owner to conduct monthly reviews to improve or adjust deliverables if necessary.
